Ayurveda is the oldest known medical system and it is believed to have influenced all our major original medical systems – Persian, Chinese, Greek.
This is time-tested wisdom from the ancients and it makes total sense in the 21st Century.
Ayurveda might originate in India, but it is for the whole humanity. This is a way to understand the complex workings of the human body and psyche in very simple, logical ways.
Ayurveda understands that one hat does not fit all! We all have a different metabolic make-up, which means that one diet, or one lifestyle, or one form of exercise and Yoga style may work well for one person but not for you.
Ayurveda identifies three humours (or doshas) – Vata, Pitta and Kapha – which are specific combinations of the five elements (ether, air, water, fire, earth).
We will all have a dominant dosha. And this determines the nature of our metabolic make-up. Some of us may have a second dominant dosha, and a few rare individuals may be equally influenced by all three types.
Knowing your Ayurveda type will empower you to make personalised choices which will optimise your unique metabolic function. This understanding is going to benefit your physical, and mental-emotional health for the rest of your life!

1) Avoid the foods that will aggravate and/or weaken your metabolic nature, which might eventaully lead to symptoms.
2) Favour foods that support your ongoing strength and well-being.
3) Make simple adjustments to your daily routine for enhanced physical and mental-emotional well-being.
4) Choose forms of exercise and Yoga styles which bring out your innate strengths, and avoid those that will aggravate your metabolic type.
5) Understand why your psychology is metabolically influenced, and allow you to make choices that will nurture your strengths and reduce the challenging aspects of your psyche for greater mental balance and happiness.
