A Day of Seasonal Ayurveda Talks, Yoga, Meditation, Enquiry, and Nutrition.
Samhain is a Celtic festival, marking the half way point between the Autumn Equinox and the Winter Solstice. As we move into the darkest days of the year, this is said to be a time when the boundary between the material and spiritual worlds thins. It is a time of the “thinning of the veil” that usually keeps us from the world of spirit.
As this veil between the two worlds narrows, it is said to be the ideal time for connection to and honouring off our ancestors.
We will be exploring Vedic ways to participate in this ancient Celtic tradition of honouring our forebears at this time of year.
This is a time when we can also explore the broader messages of the Autumn season, at its mid-point.
Plus, we are bidding farewell to the light to some extent, as we welcome in the darkest days of the year. The invitation in seasonal living, is to reflect on the positives that these darker days can bring to us and the messages they hold for our whole being – body, heart and mind.
THE RETREAT DAY THEME:
And so, on this transformational day together, we will be blending Vedic and Celtic Spirituality, enquiring into where the two meet.
Both traditions have their times for honouring the ancestors, and this time of honoring is also infomred by the seasons and time of year.
And both traditions have a great sense of how the power of Nature can guide our inner and outer worlds. And this will be the focus of all our practices together on this special day as we look to the spirit of the mid-Autumn season.
We will be drawing on Ayurveda teachings on seasonal living and nutrition for optimum well-being in body, heart and mind.
And we wil be exploring how we can align with these ancient Celtic spiritual markers in the annual calendar, as pracitioners of the teachings of Yoga and Ayurveda, for our inner nurturance and spiritual evolution.
