Embodied Awakening: Yoga Immersion Days

Yoga days for shared transformation. Time out to explore and heal our deeper lives.

A full-day experiential journey into body, breath, heart, and awareness.

These immersion days are designed to offer you a space for slowing down, turning inward, and reconnecting with what is most alive within you. Through a carefully held sequence of embodied yoga, breathwork, guided reflection, meditation, and structured sharing, we explore a chosen theme as a lived experience rather than an idea.

Each day centres around a specific inquiry such as self-compassion, trust, boundaries, or inner connection. We begin by gently enquiring into the theme silently, within ouselves—how it shows up in our lives, where it feels easeful, and where it feels challenging. From there, we move into embodied yoga practices selected specifically to support the theme of the day. Practices that support grounding, openness, and inner sensitivity.

The Yoga posture practice will be followed by breath-led awareness and guided contemplative practice.

After a soothing tea break, there is space for reflection in pairs or small groups —allowing insights to deepen through speaking and listening. This is followed by facilitation and integration of the morning work.

A light lunch and break provides time for rest, connection, and informal conversation.

In the afternoon, we move into a guided profound inner journey process inspired by therapeutic inquiry practices, supporting deeper layers of awareness connection with hidden parts within, and emotional integration. This is followed by further partner sharing and group reflection, allowing the day’s experience to settle and become embodied understanding.

We close with a restorative practice such as yoga nidra or a guided healing visualisation, supporting the nervous system to soften and the day’s insights to integrate.

This is a space for sincere inner exploration, held with care and simplicity. It is suitable for those who feel drawn to personal growth, embodied practice, and reflective inquiry in a group setting. And for those new to this kind of inner work, who have been touched by the Heart of Ayurveda approach to Yoga and would like to move deeper into this approach.

Who Are These Day Retreats For?

These days are for those who feel drawn to slow down, turn inward, and explore their inner experience with honesty and care.

They are suited to those who are curious about the relationship between body, breath, mind, and awareness. You may already have a yoga or meditation practice, or you may simply feel a sense that there is something deeper you would like to connect with.

This is not about flexibility, performance, or getting anything “right.” Rather, it is a space for noticing, feeling, and allowing—at your own pace.

The day includes guided reflection and opportunities for sharing in pairs or small groups, so it is most supportive for those who want to share and experience their the awakenings they may experience with others, while always being free to honour their own boundaries.

Above all, these immersion days are for those who are interested in personal and spiritual growth in a grounded, embodied way—within a small, supportive group setting.

Your Teacher

My name is Sara Palmer (Shama) and I am the founder of Heart of Ayurveda.

Inner enquiry, a transformational approach to Hatha Yoga practice, and meditation have long formed the basis of my spiritual practice.

I have studied and practiced various enquiry techniques over the past 25 years, and have been a dedicated practitioner of the classical approach to Hatha Yoga and Tantra Yoga for many years.

A meditation practice that puts me in touch with the depths of my own being, and the oneness of life becomes the flowering of all these practices.

As time moves on, and the awareness of life’s brevity becomes all too apparent in our increasingly precarious world, these practices and this transformation approach call to me ever more deeply.

As I was taught to always share or teach what I am practicing, because “there lies the shakti (the transformational potency)” , I want to offer these days to you.
