Falling Into Balance: 5-Day Ayurveda Autumn Rejuvenation Retreat
Oct 20-24, 2025 Shropshire Hills
Retreat into Stillness and Nuturance. Emerge Renewed.
At the foot of the ancient Wenlock Edge, where the calls of deer, owls, and woodland birds echo through the trees, we welcome you to a sanctuary of deep rest and gentle reawakening.
Here in the heart of the Shropshire Hills, where nature’s rhythms guide each moment, you are invited to retreat and rejuvenate your body, heart, and mind through the timeless healing of Ayurveda.
This carefully curated programme offers you strength and resilience for the seasons ahead—through personalised self-care, nourishing Ayurvedic meals and herbs, optional body treatments, and daily yoga and meditation practices.
Surrounded by ancient woodland and wildlife, with space to swim, breathe, wander, and simply be, this retreat offers a return to balance—held by the earth, guided by the wisdom of Ayurveda, and awakened by the wild and wonderful landscape.
.

“My deepest wish for these retreats is that all participants leave inspired, and take home life-enhancing knowledge to support their health and happiness long after the retreat is finished”.
Sara

A Day In the Life of The Ayurveda Autumn Rejuvenation Retreat
A Day in the Life
Autumn Ayurveda Rejuvenation Retreat
Awaken with the soft hush of morning light spilling across the hills, as the Autumn dawn filters through your window. A warm Ayurvedic tea awaits in the kitchen — gently spiced, grounding, and crafted to awaken your senses.
As birdsong echoes through the stillness, take a peaceful walk to the meditation hall, where the early breath of the day welcomes you to the spacious serenity of Eaton Manor Estate. Here, we begin with a gentle pranayama and meditation practice — inviting balance, presence, and alignment with the rhythm of the season.
Afterwards, a nourishing seasonal breakfast is served — warming grains, baked fruits, and wholesome delights to fortify your body and kindle your inner fire.
Following breakfast, you may stroll along the foot of Wenlock Edge — through meadows leading to a babbling brook or along the hillside to the ancient Eaton church — letting nature speak quietly to your soul.
A mid-morning Ayurvedic yoga class invites you back to the mat, offering movement, breath, and rest attuned to Autumn’s call for steadiness and strength.
After class, a comforting herbal tea greets you once again — a fragrant pause in the heart of your day.
Then we gather in the meditation hall for a seasonal Ayurveda talk — where ancient wisdom meets daily life, and you’ll receive simple, lifelong tools to support your wellbeing.
A delicious plant-based Ayurvedic lunch follows, shared in warm company, nourishing body and spirit with vibrant, seasonal flavours.
Your afternoon opens gently — yours to wander the ancient woodlands of Wenlock Edge, to take a swim in the Estate indoor pool, enjoy a healing body treatment, or rest deeply in quiet corners with a good book or thoughtful conversation.
In the late afternoon, tea and a light seasonal snack are served before we return to the hall for a soft, evening yoga practice — gentle, restorative, and attuned to winding down.
As the day draws to a close, we gather once more — each evening bringing a unique offering of healing: a fire ceremony beneath the stars, a sound bath in the candlelit hall, sacred chant, or a guided Yoga Nidra (deep rest) practice.
And then, you return to stillness in your own room — heart nourished, body grounded, spirit renewed — held by the embrace of this ancient land and the quiet magic of Autumn.

” I attended the Autumn Rejuvenation retreat with my daughter and it was a lovely time for the two of us to connect and I came away refreshed and inspired to incorporate the daily routines into my life.”
Jennie Boulton, Lincolnshire, 2024 participant

Meet Your Retreat Host:

Your Guide For the Retreat is Sara (Shama) Palmer, M.A.
I’m Sara Palmer, also known as Shama, founder of Heart of Ayurveda. I first visited Shropshire only a year or so ago and was instantly captured by it’s beauty. Such a hidden gem in our land.
The woodlands, soft rolling fields, rivers, and hills, all giving a sense of a landscape ancient and full of memories of times long gone.
I love to bring people on retreat in places where the land is largely untouched and can speak to us as we rest in it’s embrace. The nature is as much a part of the healing on the retreats I lead as the practices themselves. The environment allows us to let go of all that takes us away from the essence of who we are, and supports us as we move closer to that remembrance. The Shropshire Hills, Wenlock Edge and all the beauty that surround Eaton Manor, our venue in Shropshire, give us exactly this support. Woodlands surround us to one side as we stay at the foot of the historic Wenlock Edge, and fields and hills to the other sides. Wildlife abounds and we can hear their calls from the woodlands at dawn and as the sunsets.
I’ve been bringing wonderful communities to share such retreat experiences in beautiful places for more than ten years now.
With 20 years of teaching experience, my teaching practice began even before this,in a residential Yoga ashram in the Bahamas, There I witnessed countless transformations in the bodies, hearts, and minds of those who practiced alongside me and joined my programmes and retreats. It is the promise of such whole-person transformation that inspires me to bring you this Autumn Ayurveda Rejuvenation Retreat.
My approach is gentle and respectful — believing deeply that less effort often leads to more profound release and renewal.
I’m a registered Ayurveda practitioner, as well as a registered Senior Yoga teacher. My passion is guiding people into an understanding of all that Ayurveda has to offer them, alongside a gentle yet deeply strengthening Yoga practice. For me, the true power of Yoga lies in its subtlety — the alchemy of posture, breath, and meditation that brings positive shifts to body, mind, and heart from tired and stressed to revived, inspired, and joyful.
I love weaving Ayurveda’s wisdom into every class, adding an extra layer of balance and nourishment.
I believe Yoga, nature, – and yes, dogs! – bring out the best in all of us. While my beloved old Spanish rescue dog stays at home these days, the magic of nature in the Shropshire Hills is abundant, the presence of this ancient landscape is strong. Both are ready to uplift you. And I am ready to guide you through the practices that will do the same.
