Philosophy Kitchen: Om, The Sound of the Universe
In these regular “Philosophy Kitchen” workshops, we gather in an informal way so that I can share some of the wonderful wisdom of Ayurveda and Yoga with you. I choose topics that are relevant, and that you can apply to enrich your daily life and to support body and mind.
In this workshop, we will be enquiring into the power of the mantra OM, and practicing some of it’s many uses.
We use the sound “Om” frequently and yet I have time to tell you only a little about it in a Hatha Yoga class. And yet, there is so much to say about this wonderful sound which has been called the “Sound of the Universe”.
I want to share with you all I have learned about Om, including why it has been called the “Sound of the Universe”, it’s varied symbolism, the benefits of Om chanting, breath practices with Om, why it is said to more accurately be “Aum”, and a wonderful guided meditation on Om/Aum.
Join me on this workshop to learn all about this powerful Sanskrit word and how to use it. You will be confident to use this mantra in many ways for the benefit of body and mind after this workshop, knowing it’s true benefits. And you will be guided through a transformational Om meditation.
