WHAT HAPPENS IN YOGA THERAPY SESSIONS?
Initial assessments
We begin with an Ayurvedic assessment to look at internal imbalances which might be the root cause of symptoms.
In cases where there are musculo-skeletal problems, this is followed by physical assessment of your musculo-skeletal system, looking at postural anomalies, muscle strength/weakness and joint range of motion.
Stress levels are taken into account, and the degree to which these are triggers for or a by-product of symptoms.
Agree An Individually Prescribed Therapeutic Yoga Programme
Based on findings, we will work together to create a personalised Yoga programme for you which takes into account your daily schedule, current commitments, fatigue and energy levels.
You will receive a written programme and links to any available YouTube recordings of prescribed practices for extra support.
To experience benefit from the Yoga practices it is required that you do your personal practices at least 4 times per week , for at least one month. Your personal programme will be created so that it fits comfortably into your daily schedule: the practices usually take no more than 15 – 20 minutes.
Follow-Up Sessions
We will schedule follow up meetings of 45 minutes to 1 hour each month, for at least two months, so that we can adapt your practices as necessary and as your body starts to heal and transform.
You may be recommended to take a therapeutic Ayurveda Body Treatment to support your recovery, an Ayurveda Consultation for extra support with herbs and diet, and/or a Journey Therapy session if there is a suspected mental/emotional root cause of symptoms.
